Kecia’s approach to counseling is warm, empathetic, encouraging, eclectic, collaborative and holistic.

Kecia is a blessed wife (married since 1995) and mother to five beautiful human beings and now a mother-in-law too! She previously worked as an office administrator in Chiropractic healthcare for many years and noticed that while some patients responded well to chiropractic adjustments, some patients seemed to struggle more mentally leading to persistent physical issues. Curious about the connection between the mind and body, Kecia pursued education in mental health. Kecia continues to be curious and increase her knowledge surrounding the effects of trauma and its impact on the body, as well as the intersection of proper nutrition and its impact on mental health.

A graduate from Liberty University, Kecia has a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Christian Counseling. Kecia is also trained as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

Kecia has experience working in the New River Valley community, in the public school setting as a therapeutic day treatment counselor, as well as a mental health skill building counselor and an outpatient counselor in group practice. During her practicum and internship she served with a school counselor and a play therapist. Kecia has experience being a foster and adoptive parent as well. She is grateful for each of these opportunities to have served the community and grateful for the children and individuals she has served and still carries in her heart every day.
